New Year’s Eve celebrations will return with a bang this year with the City of Albany to stage two fireworks displays over Princess Royal Harbour as part of community celebrations.
Festivities will commence at Anzac Peace Park from 5pm with live music, food vendors, lawn games and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy before a fireworks display at 9pm for families and another in the more traditional midnight timeslot.
City of Albany Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said the City was pleased to be able to bring back a midnight fireworks display this year.
“New Year’s Eve is a key event on our City’s events calendar and it looked a little different last year because of the impact and restrictions of Covid,” he said.
“This year we’ll have a packed program of entertainment with some of the region’s best bands on stage from 5pm right through until midnight and having two fireworks shows means everyone, including families with young children, can enjoy the festivities.”
The event will comply with Covid-19 event guidelines which includes sanitiser stations, Covid marshals and entry via the Covid-Safe and SafeWA app QR code.

The event remains subject to State Government Covid-19 safety approvals and restrictions at the time of the event.
The City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks is proudly supported by Lotterywest, Southern Ports Authority, Rustlers Steakhouse and Road Safety Commission.
