Albany Town Square
Situated in the heart of the City you will find Albany Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens. This modern and vibrant central space is for the whole community to enjoy. Both spaces are intended as an informal community space as well as prime location for community gatherings and events.
The Town Squares is nestled between the historic Albany Town Hall, Albany Public Library and Albany Visitor Centre. Facilities include power, water, multi pole banners, flood lighting, public ablutions and an outdoor performance stage. It is a safe urban space that can be used both day and night.
Alison Hartman Gardens
Alison Hartman Gardens is rich in Albany culture and heritage. The space contains an amphitheatre, power, water, terraced event space, multi pole banners, flood lighting, Mokare Gardens, pathways, furniture and feature lighting installed to create a large inviting space for a variety of events.
Redevelopment of Alison Hartman Gardens in 2019 was made possible through the generous support of Lotterywest.

The City of Albany can shine a light on your event or campaign by activating the feature lighting located in the heart of the City at our Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens.
The event or campaign can be of a sporting, cultural, community or tourism-related nature.

Who can Apply?
Booking will be considered from charitable and non-profit organisations promoting a significant event or appeal that:
- Is recognised nationally or internationally
- May be of significance and or benefit to Albany
The City of Albany has the discretion to accept, amend or reject applications for use of the lighting. You will be notified of any changes via email.
What days can I book for?
All days are available to book except for City of Albany annual events, including dates and times for maintenance servicing. The booking officer can advise on availability on request.
How do I apply?
- Complete and submit a booking through our online portal
- The City will assess the eligibility of the request prior to confirmation via email of your booking dates and illumination details
- Any associated fees and charges will be communicated at this point
- Delivery of illuminations programmed. Lights will automatically activate on sunset..
