The Restricted Burning Time in the Northeast Sector of the City of Albany has been lifted, as of today, Tuesday 22nd April 2025, where burn permits are no longer required. All other conditions under the Bush Fire Act 1954 and must maintained.  The Southwest Sector of the City of Albany is still in the Restricted Burning Period up to and including Wednesday 14th May 2025.

Energy Efficiency Pilot Program

The City of Albany is participating in the Switch Your Thinking program.

Switch Your Thinking and the WA Government have teamed up with Local Governments to support local businesses and households to reduce their energy and act on climate change.

Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Audit Kit 

As part of the program, the City is offering a Home Audit Kit to help assess water and energy efficiency in homes. Available for loan for free from the City of Albany Public Library.
