The Restricted Burning Time in the Northeast Sector of the City of Albany has been lifted, as of today, Tuesday 22nd April 2025, where burn permits are no longer required. All other conditions under the Bush Fire Act 1954 and must maintained.  The Southwest Sector of the City of Albany is still in the Restricted Burning Period up to and including Wednesday 14th May 2025.

Get ready to witness an adrenaline-pumping roller derby spectacle as the Albany Roller Derby League is gearing up to host an action-packed doubleheader on October 14th!
This thrilling event will take place at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre in Albany, where local roller derby fans will be treated to an exciting Junior Game followed by an intense Adult Game featuring Albany’s Great Southern Breakers versing Perth’s Dread Pirate Rollers.
With an expected turnout of over 500 spectators, the atmosphere promises to be electric as fans gather to support their favourite roller derby athletes. This event will not only showcase the talents of seasoned players but also highlight the emergence of new talents as they make their debut on the derby track.
