Green Fair on The Square

Past Event

Have fun with science and sustainability at the Green Fair on the Square!

The science behind plastic recycling, water conservation and burning fuel for energy will headline Green Fair on the Square next month as Scitech takes to the stage.

The eco festival will give residents an opportunity to learn about the City’s new FOGO service before it starts later this year along with a range of environmentally savvy suggestions, stalls and science.

Scitech will present two shows throughout the morning either side of a performance by the Albany Brass Band with 2021 Albany Senior Citizen of the Year Colin France front and centre.

Burning, Melting and Saving is the first of the two shows and will uncover the science behind how we change the composition of elements, what happens to our recycling and why we need to save water.

I’ve Got a Problem is the second Scitech show and teaches audiences to use the power of science to problem solve some of life’s common issues in ways that may not have been realised before.

Kids will test their paper plane building skills for a chance to win a great prize in Museum of the Great Southern’s Come Fly with Me competition.

Budding rocket scientists will create paper rockets and launch them at a target in the Museum’s Calling all Rocketeers activity.
