Now in it's 3rd year, the Auto One Targa Albany Sprint has become a ‘must do’ event for competitors & spectators wanting an action packed weekend of Motorsport. The Auto One Targa Albany Sprint enables competitors to attack a challenging ~3km road course from Hybla up the hillside set against our stunning coastal backdrop.
Entry is strictly limited to 100 discerning competitors.
Appealing to traditional Rallysprint competitors along with those Racewars competitors who also like the challenge that ‘corners’ present entries are sure to sell out…fast!

Exciting New Addition: 2021 marks the Centenary of the Royal Australia Air Force. At 12.45pm there will be a fly past and aerial demonstration at Middleton Beach and Mt Adelaide as part of the Air Force Centenary program.

ROAD & CARPARK CLOSURE
To hold the event and complete preparation work to meet best-practice motorsport safety standards, Auto One Targa Albany Sprint will need to close a number of roads and carparks within the Middleton Beach and Mount Adelaide areas.
These road and carpark closures are proposed to be closed from 6.00am until 6.00pm on Monday, 1 March only.
Middleton Beach Boardwalk will stay open.
Auto One Targa Albany Sprint organisers appreciate the community’s support and patience during the running of this event and will make every effort to minimise disruption to the area. Overflow carparking will be available on the day at Eyre Park and Albany Golf Course off Wollaston Road.
It is important for public safety that all road closures and barricades are respected, however there will be event marshals on hand to help with access where necessary.
Motorsport and associated activities generate considerable noise. To manage this, racing will be confined to between 9.00am and 5.00pm, however there will be vehicle movements and some temporary increased traffic associated with the event before and after the racing time.
The following roads will be closed from 6.00am to 6.00pm Monday, 1 March:
- Flinders Parade from Middleton Road to Adelaide Crescent
- Adelaide Crescent from Golf Links Road to Flinders Parade
- Marine Terrace from Middleton Road to Adelaide Crescent
- Marine Drive from Flinders Parade to Burgoyne Road
- Forts Road
ACCESS TO ALBANY HERITAGE PARK & NATIONAL ANZAC CENTRE
The National Anzac Centre will be CLOSED during the event, and there is no access to The Albany Heritage Park (The Forts) between 6am to 6pm.
Any residents or staff within The Albany Heritage Park (The Forts) who need to move to or from the area during the road closure times will be able to do so under the escort of an Official during scheduled racing breaks.

3. Where can we park?
Public parking is limited. All roadside parking and car parks within the event zone will be closed to the public during the event and marshals will be on hand to prevent any unauthorised vehicle access. Those wanting to watch the event will need to utilise parking at nearby Eyre Park, Albany Golf Course at the northern end of Marine Terrace, or in designated parking spaces on surrounding streets.
4. Is the Boardwalk still accessible?
Yes, The Boardwalk will remain open. To ensure the safety of spectators Marshals will be at access points onto Marine Drive.
5. Where can I watch the event from?
The public can join us at the Middleton Beach precinct where the competitor pits and start line are. Spectators can also walk along the Boardwalk up to the Lookout on Marine Drive.
6. How much does it cost to watch the event?
Nothing! It is free to watch the action at the Auto One Targa Albany Sprint.
7. Will I be able to access the Albany Heritage Park and National Anzac Centre?
No, it will be closed on Monday, 1 March 2021
8. What options are available for food and beverages?
The Auto One Targa Albany Sprint is held near some of Albany’s best hospitality venues. Attendees can enjoy a wide array of quality food and beverages from the venues at Middleton Beach. Auto One Targa Albany Sprint encourages all our attendees to strongly support these local businesses and enjoy what they have to offer across the entire weekend. The Targa Team will be using Hybla as its headquarters for the Sprint.
9. What arrangements are in place to manage noise?
All competing vehicles are subject to noise restrictions as per the Motorsport Australia National Competition Regulations as specified in the event regulations. Vehicles will not go “racing” until 9.00am with limited activities to prepare for the days racing occurring between 7.00am – 9.00am. Noise associated with set up will be kept to a minimum and should not unduly impact on residents.
10. Can we fly drones to capture footage from the event?
No. The unauthorised use of UAV’s / Drones is prohibited by law. Persons found operating UAV’s without permission over the event precinct risk substantial fines and will be reported to Police. Please keep your drones at home and do not place our support staff at risk of drone strike.
