Roadworks - Stirling Terrace East
Published on Wednesday, 2 October 2024 at 10:31:14 AM
The City of Albany commenced the staged upgrade of Stirling Terrace for the ANZAC commemorations in 2015. The final section of upgrade is between York Street and Centrelink carpark and will provide a consistent road cross section and streetscape throughout the Stirling Terrace precinct.
The current scope includes:
- Realignment and reconstruction of the existing traffic and parking lanes;
- Box-out and replace existing pavement gravel;
- Construction of new asphalt surface;
- Construction of new concrete and granite kerb to match previously reconstructed section;
- Construction of new brick paved parking bays and footpaths.
Works are expected to commence in early October 2024, with completion by the end of January 2025, weather permitting.
The City understands that on-street parking is an important factor to be managed during the construction process. The construction programme has been formulated to minimise the amount of parking bays out of service on any given day. The City’s contractor, WCP Civil, will liaise with businesses on a daily basis to provide regular updates about access to adjacent premises and any restrictions on the use of on-street parking.
The City will endeavour to keep these and any other disruptions to a minimum and would appreciate your co-operation in working with on-site staff.
