As the days shorten and the cold weather creeps in, venues across Albany will heat up with a wide variety of arts, culture and children’s events for the annual July Maritime Festival. The Maritime Festival celebrates our City’s cultural and maritime history, including that of Albany’s Menang Noongar people – who have strong links to the sea dating back thousands of years.
The 2024 festival saw enthusiastic participation, with over 28,000 attendees, and featuring an impressive 173 events held across 20 venues, with 41 events run by the City of Albany and an additional 132 hosted by external stakeholders, including the Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival.
Now in its fifth year, the Maritime Festival has consolidated its place as a key annual event, cultivating the region’s cultural audience and delving into the city’s maritime legacy in preparation for the 2026 Bicentenary.
The City of Albany’s Events Team invites commercial operators, community groups, local businesses, emerging and established performers and entertainers who would like to be a part of the 2025 Festival Program to submit an Expression of Interest.
If you are an individual, group or organisation wishing to participate in the festival, or if you have a ready-made act/activity or a brand new idea to celebrate our maritime heritage, we would love to hear from you!
The program will feature popular events like All at Sea Saturday, Foreshore Friday, Maritime Treasure Trail, Maritime Menu Map, Menang Maritime History Talks as well as exciting new activations.
