Wildflowers vs Weeds Workshop
Past Event
The Albany area is lucky to be filled with a variety of native wildflowers which can decorate our landscapes.
However, weeds can threaten the survival of these wildflowers, which can have devastating effects on the natural ecosystem.
Join field-active conservation biologist, researcher and well-published scientific author, Stephen Hopper, in the stunning Wignalls West Bush Reserve for a sunset tour through the bush, where you will learn the botanical names of local wildflowers, discover how to identify weeds and learn safe removal methods.
The tour bus will depart from the City of Albany North Road Office at 4pm, and return around 6pm.
Attendees are encouraged to wear suitable warm clothing, long pants and comfortable enclosed walking shoes. This tour is suitable for people aged 10 years and over of moderate fitness level. The local bush track is not suitable for mobility aid access as they are uneven and may be wet in places from recent rains.
Please bring a water bottle and if you want to take photo's your own camera.
Transport to the sunset walk is provided by bus which will leave the City of Albany North Road office at 4pm. The bus will return to the office around 6pm.
