The Albany Sub Branch of the RSLWA will host a special service to commemorate and recognise the service of the Australian Defence Force over the past 50 years. This includes service in various conflicts such as Somalia, Rwanda, Kuwait, Timor, Iraq, Afghanistan, and peace operations in Cambodia, Bougainville, the Middle East, and the Solomons.
The service will also formally recognise the countless members who served in full-time and part-time roles within Australia and overseas, including Naval activities with Operation Sovereign Borders, RAAF deployments in Malaysia, and Army forces at Airbase Butterworth.
Event Highlights:
- Service Concept: Initiated by Rex Hendriks, President of the Albany Sub Branch, to honour ADF service and build bonds with recent serving members.
- Timing: The service will start at 5:00 PM, allowing those traveling to arrive on Saturday morning.
- Post-Service Function: A function will follow the service at the Sub Branch in Stirling Terrace.
