The ever popular Christmas Festival will return on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December with
Christmas Twilight Markets hosted by Green Skills in Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens, laneway activations on York Street and the Artisan Designer Gift Fair in the Town Hall.
The Christmas Pageant will look a little different this year due to COVID-19. Rather than moving along York Street, floats will be presented as a static display, allowing visitors to view the creations at their leisure whilst staying socially distanced. Float displays will be in place from 4pm – 6pm on Saturday, 5 December.
On Saturday 5 December, meander down York Street and see aerial rig performances from 3pm, as well as laneway performing arts and installations.
In the new world we live in, the City of Albany encourages you to download the COVIDSafe app prior to attending, take advantage of hand sanitizer stations, keep a safe distance from other people and stay home if you are feeling unwell.

A shuttle service will also be running between 4.15pm and 5.30pm on Saturday, 5 December to assist the mobility impaired navigate York Street and see all the static float displays! The shuttle will leave from the Visitor Centre - look out for the Big Red Fire Truck!
Laneway Activations
York Street laneways will become activated by local artists across the whole weekend. There will be crochet creations, upcycled hanging artwork, a Menang Noongar Cultural Hub, a guerrilla project and nativity play in the laneways. See the map below. This event program will be subject to the relevant State Emergency Management COVID-19 directions applicable at the time of the event which may restrict the type, scale or conditions for the event to proceed.
The City will follow the directions and guidance from the WA Government to ensure all requirements are met as the safety of our community is our first priority.
