Albany Regional Day Care Centre

Albany Regional Day Care has been providing early education and care to children of the Albany Community since 1977.  Our centre is purpose built and in the heart of the Albany CBD with places for 60 children per day aged between 6 weeks to 6 years. Our service provides all meals and a Kindy Program for 3 and 4 year olds. Exciting planned and spontaneous learning experiences occur daily, along with the opportunity to be involved in excursions, special events and preparing for the transition to school.

Educators in the centre have extensive experience and qualifications and deliver an educational curriculum in line with the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.

The centre is equipped with quality age appropriate facilities and resources, integrated with nature playgrounds in all areas. A strong commitment to customer service and an opportunity for families to be involved in the educational curriculum, has led to a positive and a supportive relationship with our community.

Visitors are welcome to make an appointment for a full tour of our facility along with an information pack.

Our Philosophy

We at the Albany Regional Day Care Centre will provide a warm, caring, comfortable and safe environment for children. Together we will deliver embedded best practices enabling consistency in the environment for children’s confidence, sense of wellbeing and willingness to engage in learning.

We believe families are the most important influence in a child’s life and are the primary source of information about their children. Therefore, we encourage families and community to be actively involved in our centre. Children will be given many opportunities through play to confidently explore and construct ideas about the world around them encouraging lifelong learning.

We think critically of our practices and reflect as teams and individuals.

As educators we believe that all children have a right to respect, regardless of their abilities. We provide an environment that is safe yet stimulating and a curriculum that challenges through creativity, self-choice and learning through play. Our educators believe sustainability is about empowering children and investing in their future. Our reflection on theorists; We strongly believe that not one theorist outweighs another in helping us to help children grow healthy, strong, and confident.

We support each child’s learning in different ways, different pace, and approach. Communication is valued and together with families, educators, and community we can achieve a stimulating, collaborative approach.

Mutual respect among staff and families for diversity, equity and inclusion are essential for optimal development and learning. Our experienced Educators can identify strengths, needs and interests of each child, to help promote children’s sense of security and belonging, within the ‘Early Learning’ setting. Our centres Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) guides our service to be inclusive and not tokenistic.

We recognise and value the knowledge and commitment of our centres Educators and fully support their continuing professional development. Our centre has processes in place for compliance of the National Law, Early Years Learning Framework and implementation. As a team we review and reflect on our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and RAP as an ongoing document to help guide our practices.

We have developed an outstanding reputation as a leading childcare provider. Our centre opened in 1977, and we have provided consistent quality Childcare to our community. We will continue our commitment to the Great Southern Region.
