Children's Regulation Workshop

Tuesday 1st October 2024

Based on occupational therapy interventions, speech, and physiotherapy, Sing Move Regulate is a unique program designed to support children in tuning into their bodies and developing skills to understand and communicate their authentic needs, as well as how to have them met.

The program is structured to flow with the natural progression of the room, offering learning opportunities that align with the rhythms of song, dance, and mindfulness. It begins with live music and a theme song to welcome children into the space, with various percussion instruments available for their use. Sound regulation and simple Auslan are incorporated to invite children to move their bodies. Movement opportunities are intentionally integrated into sequencing and pattern games, obstacle courses, and group activities. The session concludes with neuro-affirming stories, simple grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and wellness wishes.

All members of Sing Move Regulate have a Working with Children check and Police Clearance.
