The City of Albany with the support of Tourism Western Australia are bringing the third instalment of the popular Maritime Festival to Albany this July.
Foreshore Friday is a new addition to the festival line up on 30 June, inviting audiences to a party at the Albany Boatshed with live music, food trucks and a genuine music festival vibe.
The very next day, All at Sea Saturday takes place with water based ‘Come and Try’ activities, a virtual reality experience, cooking demonstrations, a mermaid and the popular Build-a-Boat competition and regatta.
The Albany Boatshed will go on to host Maritime Youth Markets on 2 July and the much-loved Albany Boatshed Markets every Sunday through July.
One of the fastest selling events from the 2022 festival is back at Six Degrees with Menang Maritime History Exploration Evenings retuning for three engrossing sessions of engaging cultural content.
From 8 -24 July, the second instalment of the expressive and powerful G + B Exhibition will take place at Hilton Garden Inn where local artist display their talents in the theme of green and blue.
For the music lovers among us, Songs of the Sea will satisfy all tastes and preferences every Saturday in July and features a captivating album launch from the local Shantymen.
Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre is on board with Maritime Pool Play and two Pirate and Mermaid Parties while the Albany Public Library host Local History Maritime Talks.
Breaksea present a brand new children’s show; The Magical Weedy Seadragon, on 30 June and 1 July at the Albany Entertainment Centre. Developed with local primary school children, the show features live music, quirky characters, and a sprinkling of magic.
An underwater wonderland is waiting to be explored at the Museum of the Great Southern, created by the museum’s Art Ability group, the installation brings an underwater paradise to life.
Discover a range of interactive exhibits and activities for all ages to enjoy at Albany’s Historic Whaling Station with something for everyone across the entire month.
Mayor of Albany Dennis Wellington said the Maritime Festival will banish the Albany winter blues.
