Community participation for an Age Friendly Albany

Published on Tuesday, 24 May 2022 at 9:56:43 AM

The City of Albany adopted the Age Friendly Albany Plan in 2016 and is now seeking community feedback to review the vision and objectives for the next four years.

With a higher proportion of Albany residents aged 60 years and over compared with the overall WA average, planning for an ageing population delivers many benefits across the community.

Community Development Coordinator Tammy Flett said engaging with the community was key to ensuring the plan remains relevant.

“This plan will guide City decisions around how we can support our senior residents in numerous and important facets of their life; so it is important we hear directly from our older residents,” she said.

“We want to know what we are getting right, what we can improve on and what our senior community value, appreciate and need from their City.”

The City will be hosting two workshops for residents to have their voice heard;

  • Wednesday, May 25 from 2pm to 3pm at the Albany Public Library.
  • Monday, June 13 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the City of Albany Civic Rooms.

To book into a workshop contact Caitlin Jameson on 6820 3008 or email [email protected]

If residents are unable to attend a workshop they can provide feedback by completing the online survey at https://fal.cn/3o5ji
