City of Albany is seeking expressions of interest from community members to be part of the Communications and Engagement Advisory Group and having a voice on City engagement activities.
The Communications and Engagement Strategy 2024-2027 was recently endorsed by Council, replacing the 2019-2022 version with updated objectives and priorities for the community.
Informed by established principles, the updated Strategy delineates specific engagement and communication methods, including target audiences, optimal timing, and preferred formats for City communications.
The Communications and Engagement Advisory Group exists to assist in reporting, monitoring and reviewing the Strategy and associated Action Plan each quarter, and provide advice to the City about engagement activities that may impact community.
This includes providing valuable advice to the City of Albany and Council about the communications and engagement projects that are undertaken across the organisation.
The City is seeking community members with a diverse range of skills, experience, backgrounds, interests and perspectives who can offer key insights and viewpoints on City engagement projects.
Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said the Communications and Engagement Advisory Group provides valuable guidance from those within our community.
"Having input from a diverse group ensures that our communications and engagement efforts are inclusive, effective, and truly reflective of the community's needs and desires,” he said.
“The Communications and Engagement Advisory Group has the power to influence real change within our broader community.
“We encourage anyone passionate about contributing to the growth and improvement of our City's engagement strategies to apply and make their voice heard.”
Community members are encouraged to complete the online Expression of Interest Form, outlining their skills, interests and ability to accurately represent community.
Hard copies of the form are available upon request by emailing [email protected].
