Albany will welcome in 2024 with a bang when the City of Albany hosts its annual New Year’s Eve Family Picnic and Fireworks.

A diverse line-up of entertainment from soulful tunes to energetic beats will get all ages in the groove for the traditional fireworks shows at 9pm and midnight.

The stage will come alive from 5pm with the sounds of St Marg, Iris, Scarlet Drive, The Frauds, South Summit, and the beats of DJ Cristian Stromberg.

Local actor, musician and entertainer Joel Jackson will bring his infectious energy and engaging presence to the emcee role for the second consecutive year.

The Kids Entertainment Zone will provide plenty of fun for little ones with mini-golf and giant bubbles creating lasting memories for the whole family.

For those who would prefer not to pack a picnic, there will be a variety of food vans on site to keep hungry tummies satisfied and quench your thirst.

Mayor Greg Stocks said it was always great to see the community come together to celebrate the start of a New Year.

"This event continues to grow and it’s wonderful to see the community come together and have a good time,” he said.

“It’s been a big year for everyone and it’s timely to celebrate the year that’s been and also start the new year off on a good note.”

The City of Albany New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks event starts at 5pm on Sunday, December 31 at Anzac Peace Park.
