City of Albany Community Scorecard

The City of Albany conducts a MARKYT® Community Scorecard every two years to get feedback on how the community feel the City is performing against commitments made in our Corporate Business Plan.

The City partners with independent survey specialists CATALYSE® to reach out to the community and ask what is being done well and what can be improved. Feedback from residents helps to inform the City’s priorities, as well as provide valuable performance benchmarks for a range of City services.

The latest surveys are provided below.

2023 Albany Community Scorecard

The most recent scorecard was undertaken in March 2023. Overall, the City of Albany continues to be ahead of industry average, driven by the community's positive view of services such as sport and recreation facilities, local history and heritage, library services and initiatives in support of the recognition of First Nations peoples.

At the other end of the spectrum, the City is trailing the industry average in its maintenance of local roads, delivery of waste collection services, and provision of traffic and parking management.

The City will consider the survey results throughout the 2023-24 Budget process in a continuing effort to better target spending across its services and facilities.

The community identified priorities that included climate change, youth services, footpaths, cycleways, economic development, job creation and safety.

The highest scoring areas were place to live, place to visit, tourism attractions and marketing, recognition and respect for Aboriginal cultures and heritage, public health and wellbeing programs, education, community buildings, library services and public toilets.
