Community fundraising continues image

Following the fantastic fundraising efforts by the Albany community, Bendigo Bank has committed a further $2000 to our Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade’s Forward Control Vehicle.

The funds will go towards purchasing a Repeater Trailer which will improve communication by boosting mobile signal within emergency areas.

On top of the guaranteed $2000, Bendigo Bank will assist the brigades in crowd-funding extra money to go towards the Repeater Trailer and aerial for the Forward Control Vehicle.

$72,000 was raised by the community last month for a state-of-the-art Forward Control Vehicle, equipped with the latest in communication and computer equipment.

The repeater trailer and aerial will complete the vehicle and ensure that in the event of an emergency, communication will be maintained to the highest standard.

Mayor Dennis Wellington thanked those who donated and encouraged those who haven’t yet donated to head to Bendigo Bank’s website to make a contribution.

“The volunteer bush fire brigades are grateful for the ongoing contribution, the vehicle will be an extremely valuable resource in managing emergency response.”
