City of Albany wins National award

The City of Albany has continued its winning streak after it was announced the national winner for Heritage and Culture at the 2016 Sustainable Cities awards in Melbourne last Thursday.
The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in litter prevention and environmental sustainability from leading Councils and community groups across the country.
Secretary of Keep Albany Beautiful Janice Ford accepted the award on the City’s behalf.
Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington thanked Ms Ford for her contribution to Albany’s achievements.
"Keep Albany Beautiful has been a key contributor in Albany’s recent accolades," Mayor Wellington said.
"On behalf of the City of Albany, I thank the committee, our staff at the City of Albany and the Albany community for working to make Albany such a beautiful place to live."
